German people show a wide variety of traditions with their food choices when it comes to holidays and other celebratory events. oktober fest, that starts in september, happens to be one of the largest celebration in the German culture. This celebration consists of the usually thought of drinking but the food has a particular specialty to it. During Oktoberfest, German Cuisine is in a sense stuffed. German food is often heavy and loaded with carbs but during such an event, it is even higher. This is done to ensure that the celebrators have plenty of energy to burn off as they continue through nights of selebrations. A very well made and common dish is commonly known as beer and potatoe soup. This consist of a particular brew of german beer, potatoes, chives, and whatever other vegetables the cook decides to throw in. This is a popular dish because it is open to the cooks own decision as to what to throw in. It is easy and very open to interpretation This is an easy dish to make and goes along with the common traditions during oktoberfest. The german people also contribute greatly to other holidays that are commonly know throughout the world. For Christmas, the german people were the ones to originally come up with the song Silent Night. The German culture, contrary to belief, is filled with tradition and whole heartedly fun and cheer. Like any other proud culture, Germans take pride in thier celebrations and traditions.
